Differences of Sales and Marketing

Actually, the meaning of marketing is the entire system of business activities aimed at product planning, pricing, promoting and distributing goods product that aims to satisfy consumers. While sales is an activity that only focus on selling products, and aims to increase product sales alone.
From the notion that existed, it was clear that the marketing process is longer and more complex when compared with the sales process. In marketing strategy, there are 4P even add up to 7P, which consists of product, price, place, promotion, process, people, physical evidence. While sales to be only one part of the promotion (promotion), so it does not consider other factors that can support marketing.
Subsequent differences in marketing strategy, the marketer or marketers always keep the brand image of product. So that consumers decide to buy a product because it already knows the quality of the product and the product brand image. While the sales strategy is that they are not concerned to maintain the brand image of products, but most importantly they offer to the market by way of informing the excess products, for consumers interested in and buy their products. And more interesting is the salesman never thought about whether consumers satisfied or not, the important thing is the product sold well and set company sales targets are met.
Even so, there are several companies that make sales as part of marketing, but still distinguish their work assignments. If the marketing focus on product marketing strategy planning in accordance with 4P or 7P part of the marketing mix, then sales will begin work after the product is ready for the market. So sort of marketing is a team making its marketing strategy, while sales is the executing team.
Another difference is the sales and marketing, the sales relationship with customers only until the process of buying or selling, after sales no longer responsible for maintaining good relations with customers. Meanwhile, marketing and customer relations should remain intact from start prior to the transaction, until after the transaction to maintain customer loyalty.
A company can not successfully win the competition if you just rely on the sales market. And sales will not be created with the best if not supported by good marketing strategy. Any company can make sales, but not necessarily every company is able to plan marketing strategies capable of satisfying the needs and desires of consumers. Hopefully useful and successful greeting.
